�����Getting to the interview process is a relief for any applicant because this indicates that the employer has initially seen the qualifications and skills of the applicant to be fitted for the job. However, the employment process is not yet over, there is a need to face a more challenging part of the process and this is the interview part. Through the interview, the employer will be given a chance to personally assess the qualifications of the applicant. It is important that the applicant exude confidence without being boastful. The applicant should highlight his experience and convince the employer that he is the perfect person for the job.
In preparing for this crucial step, the following should be remembered:
- Research
The applicant should research on the company background, goals, mission and history beforehand. The more that the applicant knows about the company, the more will he be able to address the company needs for the position desired.
- Don't be late
Being late will not create a good impression to the employer and this might even affect chances of being employed. The applicant should arrive at the office on or before the set time. He should know where he is going, the length of the trip and the people to meet to avoid being late.
- Look presentable
The clothing used and the hair style should be neat and professional looking. The nails and the shoes should also be clean.
- Bring the necessary documents
Before going to the interview, the applicant should be ready with the needed documents specified by the employer or if there is none, the applicant should bring basic documents such as a copy of the resume with cover letter, certificates and portfolio. Having these documents at hand will ease the interview process and the assessment of the employer.
- Rehearse
The applicant should think of probable answers to commonly asked questions during job interviews or if he knows someone from the company, he should ask for tips on how to answer questions.
